Wow, I fell for the pre-trib rapture lie and fear for some time...until really praying and reading the Bible, praying for understanding and spiritual discernment. They want us afraid of everything. Like the scripture that says even a leaf shaking would cause fear that they would run from. I foolishly even put 2x6 boards up against my doors for awhile for those 3 or 4 A.M. fear-mongering breakins they were pushing. A. Jones and gang, who talk for hours and hours. Finally quit listening to all of 'em. And it kept us, or, rather, me from reading God's Words of life. I think a main scripture is also THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES. That is where fear should be--fear and reverence of God, who can destroy both body and soul in hell. Antichrists have them believing that THEY will protect them, and that God has forsaken the earth. AND the devil's not real, or he is god and our Lord is the devil. This pack of lies from my own Sister, who once loved the Lord! SOOO SAD. No it doesn't clearly describe that at all, not if you look at scripture elsewhere in the Bible.
A couple of mentions of 'The man of sin', 'the son of perdition' is used over and over to make this big bold claim of an individual devil man with supernatural abilities at the end of time.
But….
the terms ‘he’ or ‘man’ are used throughout scripture, and it doesn’t mean one person in most cases. Its talking to you as an individual.
You see this famous piece of scripture….. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea.
Notice it says let us make MAN, as is if it is talking about one person? But it is not, because then it goes on to say ‘them’.
Throughout the Bible we see the term MAN used and it doesn’t equate to a single individual, as you can see in Deuteronomy below, this is not addressing an individual single person, it is the many.

[11] But if any MAN hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:

So as it states in thessalonians it says

Looking at this and then at the scripture before and the use of ‘man’ it seems not unusual to think that a man of sin revealed could be the antichrist spirit in those (many antichrist) who have fallen away and have no holy spirit.

I am of the opinion that Revelation was written before the temple was destroyed in 70AD. The scripture you reference could refer to a desecration that took place within the temple before it was destroyed (if the interpretation is to be strictly literal). Christ Himself visited destruction on the Old Covenant system in 70, having allowed a grace period of 40 years from the establishment of the New Covenant system during His earthly ministry. (This demonstrates to me the incredible patience of our Lord.) The notion of a third temple is blasphemous in the extreme, which is why God has supernaturally ssabotaged all efforts to reconstruct it these past 2000 years. Do some research on what happened during such an attempt under the reign of Julian the Apostate.
So, like i said, you explain away the man of sin and the temple, BUT you conveniently ignore the part about the day of christ, which MUST be literal.
So how can you justify taking the first part literally, then explaining away the second part OF THE SAME SENTENCE, the same message,, it literally reads ..that day shall not come except…..falling away, Man of sin, temple exalts himself etc…

It’s difficult to spiritualise such a plain reading scripture.
My own pastor is amillinial but his attempt to spiritualise the verse was far from convincing compared to the plain reading…
